Anthony Piccininno

Anthony Piccininno is a certified financial coach and the founder of Crimson Money Concepts.  He has also been trained and certified in tax preparation by the Internal Revenue Service and previously volunteered as an income tax return assistant.  In the past, he also assisted in conducting several successful fundraising campaigns and is a graduate of the esteemed Dale Carnegie Course.

He obtained an associate’s degree in business administration and earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in economics with a minor in psychology.  He attended graduate school at Harvard University, where he studied both business and government and later attended the University of Oxford.

Anthony spent just over a decade in the automotive industry while working through his undergraduate and graduate education.  He held positions at the dealership and the corporate levels of Volvo and BMW ranging from clerical to management in the areas of accounting, finance, marketing, sales, service, and technical materials analysis.

From 2001 to 2005, Anthony also enjoyed a career as a Program Analyst with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) at The White House in Washington, DC.  While at OMB, he worked in the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, and later in the Public Health Branch as a budget analyst.  In 2001, he was recognized with the Distinguished Service Award for dedicated service to The White House and the Executive Office of the President. Some of his responsibilities while at OMB included:

  • processing all apportionment requests for both the Department of Health and Human Services and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, totaling over $580 billion
  • acting as the lead budget analyst on administration priorities and budget authority tracking tables
  • authoring and editing the President’s Budget, which is submitted annually to Congress
  • serving as a member of the Program Evaluation Team, for which he was awarded the Cross-Cutting Group Award
  • coordinating responses to White House Staffing Requests and other official correspondence
  • conducting the regulatory reviews and cost-benefit analyses for numerous high-profile regulations promulgated by the Department of Transportation, United States Coast Guard, and the Federal Aviation Administration

Anthony was subsequently employed with the Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP), the largest and most renown state law enforcement agency in the United States, until 2017.  For roughly a decade, he worked as a Budget Analyst, the Statewide Inventory Control Analyst, and as an Administrative Analyst for the CHP at the Headquarters office in Sacramento. 

As an Administrative Analyst, he provided analytical and administrative support to the Administrative Services Division and its subordinate sections and units, including Fleet Operations Section, Facilities Section, Fiscal Management Section, Business Services Section, Internal Review Unit, Recruitment Unit, and Cadet Hiring Unit.  Responsibilities included:

  • reviewing and analyzing written correspondence, such as manual revisions, memorandums, letters, contract requests, legislative bill analyses, and various reports
  • tracking incoming assignments and ensuring deadlines for completion were met
  • providing policy interpretation to staff
  • preparing correspondence for the Division Chief
  • completing special projects, which included creating a state-wide inventory database and serving as the lead budget analyst on the CHPers project, which was a half billion dollar multi-year replacement of the radio system used California Highway Patrol

Anthony has extensive experience in the private sector as well as the public sector, and at both the state and federal levels of government.  A result of that experience, he is a subject matter expert in budgeting, economic policy, asset management, as well as administrative and personnel issues.
